Hi! Eline here… new media designer, Danish, currently living in Oslo and Copenhagen, working for a Canadian company specializing in utilizing new media technologies to create and enhance user experiences and learning in higher cultural institutions, learning centres and the immense field of apps and online solutions. So I basically design experiences, learning tools and stories. My design field and expertise is two-fold: one is developing the strategic and conceptual end of things to ensure the critical value for the user, the other is creating the actual visual design, look and feel of the things we make and implement.
The Zoo Manifesto is my thesis project from my master in interaction design at CIID, Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design and The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts – The School of Design.
Previously I was a professional filmmaker for about 10 years, I was – and still am to a very high degree – passionate about storytelling. I did find the dogma of the industry tight, there was a formula to everything, and I was missing a more hands-on link to the actual society, to critisism, enlightenment and learning. So I deeply welcomed the rise of new media in the 90ies and saw a lot of potential and opportunity herin.
I changed from film to design as I went to design school to get a degree in digital design and interaction. Now I’m in a daily process of marrying the two : storytelling and design with a final output that has a strong sense of value for the user.
